Bashir Hussain
CEO
With B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Electronics and Communications from University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Bashir Hussain brings a comprehensive foundation to the journey.
An illustrious background, including significant roles at Pakistan Telegraph and Telephone Department. In addition, comprehensive training both locally and abroad, brings multifaceted skills in project planning, human resources and financial management. As a Member of Pakistan Engineering Council , commitment to engineering excellence is unwavering.
Garnered years of invaluable experience and expertise, particularly in leadership during the tenure 2009-2015 as CEO Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC), a subsidiary of Ministry of Commerce Government of Pakistan, CEO PARAS Food (Pvt) Ltd Lahore, an irradiation facility, joint venture of PHDEC and Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission and Chairman Board of Directors Pakistan Hortifresh Processing (Pvt) Ltd Karachi.
M Iqbal
Value Chain Expert
An agri. business and value chains expert, holds M.Sc (Hons) in agricultural economics, and is a fellow of the Economic Development Institute of the World Bank. He has well over fifty years of professional experience in management and technical positions in agricultural and rural development with focus on inclusive value chains and sustainable livelihood.
He worked for quite a few public sector and renowned international organizations. Among the public sector organizations, he served as Chief Operating Officer, Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company, Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan; and General Manager, Agricultural Marketing and Storage Limited, Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan. As regard the international organizations, he served as National Expert Marketing and Post harvest, and Project Coordinator, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations(FAO); Marketing and Post-harvest Management Adviser, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Deputy Chief of Party, Winrock International Institute for Agricultural Development. These were long term agricultural and rural development programs involving stakeholders’ engagement and capacity building, infrastructure development and good agricultural practices/technologies including innovative and climate smart/resilient practices incentivized through a cost sharing model, market linkages, and international compliance on food quality and safety to address trade barriers.
He also carried out a number of short-term national and international assignments relevant to his field of expertise. The agribusiness in general and horticultural value chains in particular remained the area of focus. He has a unique blend of education & hands on experience related to value added agriculture sector, with deep insight into socio-economic needs of the farmers and opportunities for sectoral development.
Akram Khalid
With an MBA in Executive Management and a B.Com from Hailey College of Commerce, Akram Khalid brings 39 years of cross-sector leadership experience in banking, government, and business consultancy—both in Pakistan and internationally.
Beginning his career with ANZ Grindlays Bank in 1983, Akram rose through key positions in major financial institutions such as The Bank of Punjab, Habib Bank Limited (in Pakistan, UAE, and Sri Lanka), where he notably led asset recovery efforts, restructured overseas operations, and introduced modern banking frameworks.
In public service, he served as Project Director of an Asian Development Bank-funded initiative under the Ministry of Agriculture and later as Senior General Manager at the Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company under the Ministry of Commerce. He led major national projects, organized international expos, drafted trade policy recommendations, and oversaw multi-regional development programs.
Post-2013, Akram transitioned into strategic consultancy, providing advisory services to organizations across food, fashion, agriculture, and legal-tech sectors in Pakistan and the UAE. His work includes business model development, financial planning, risk mitigation strategies, and youth entrepreneurship programs.
Widely recognized as a public speaker and trainer, Akram has represented Pakistan at international forums and television talk shows, authored articles in leading newspapers, and conducted professional trainings in international banking, export strategy, and enterprise development.
His career reflects a rare combination of public policy insight, corporate acumen, and grassroots entrepreneurial mentorship.
Hassan Ammar
Senior Sustainability Consultant
Armed with a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Environmental Policy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics—both from the University of Pennsylvania—Hassan Ammar brings over a decade of international expertise in environmental policy, sustainability consulting, and ESG integration.
Since 2012, he has contributed to impactful sustainability work at organizations such as the United Nations Association of Greater Philadelphia and Precision Development in the United States, before taking on senior roles at the European Technology Chamber (EUTECH) in Germany.
At EUTECH, Hassan has held pivotal positions including Project Lead for Sustainability Consulting at the Siera Alliance and Sustainability Reporting Expert at M&P Climate. His focus has spanned European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and CO₂ emissions accounting across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
With a strong foundation in economic analysis and environmental governance, Hassan blends policy insight with practical sustainability solutions—making him a sought-after advisor for organizations aiming to meet evolving regulatory standards while embedding long-term environmental and social value.
